Once upon a time

Wow -- Looking back at my last post - it is ssooo long ago . I was away for 2 1/2 months arriving back the week before Christmas. I spent just over 2 months in Australia, 5 days in Melbourne, then 10 days in Wentworth Falls with my lovely sister Dianne and then 6 weeks in Laguna, Hunter Valley with another lovely sister Julie( I have so much to write and show from my holiday that I will leave for another post)
While I was away I had another grandson born on the 26th November --

After returning from Australia,I brought my grandson Mackye back from Auckland to stay with me and after 2 days, he developed Chicken pox - so needless to say that week was spent running around and looking after him.
Here is is February already and I have hardly any time to myself let alone go and see my new grandson Sean. I am really hanging out to meet my new grandson.
My sister came to stay for 10 days at the beginning of January and then I went up to Auckland the last week of January for Mackye's 5th Birthday-- for his birthday Mackye got a new Black kitten that he named "Slinky Malinky"-- and once again I brought him back from Auckland and have had him staying here for a week with me.

He went home on Monday and started school on Thursday 5th February-- He was ssooo excited -- Here is Mackye all ready for his first day at school

PS, to this story--Slinky Malinky also went AWOL for the day and night on the Thursday but after searching the neighbourhood and knocking on doors, the kitten was found and is now back home with Mackye -- needless to say they are both staying put for a few days at home !!

A new Cuttlebug Yahoo Group

A few months back Wendy P and I decided that we needed a NZ cuttlebug group as these little green bugs had become addictive to use for embossing and die-cutting on Cards, ATCs etc.

The top 3 ATCs are extra that had made and left over from a swap one of the groups that I belong to.

The bottom set of 4 are the ATCs that i received from my partners.

I really enjoyed making these ATCs as i love this colour scheme-- it is so vibrant!!!

And of course they are the colours of the "Red Hat Society" of which i am the Queen on my local Branch

CYBER FYBER EXHIBITION is an international event scheduled at Gallery 80808/Vista Studios, 808 Lady Street in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, USA from January 8th through 20th, 2009. The focus of this exhibition is to highlight the influences of Internet access for today's fiber artists.

Fibre artist, Susan Lenz, has organised this Postcard and ATC swap on a major scale. She has listed the postcards and atcs that she has made for swapping, and invited people to swap with her.

I couldnt pass this one up---I'm trading ATC # 32 & postcard #188...as pictured above !!! they are AWESOME !!! Thank you Susan
Susan has made up some great ATC's & postcards from her own fiber art...can you imagine ! she has actually cut-up some of her older exhibition pieces for this trade...

Here I am catching up --I cannot believe that it is 2 months since I last updated my Blog-- where has the year gone -- time seems to pass by in the blink of an eye. I have friends who are already thinking about making a start on their Christmas Cards -- eeekk

I was so excited to get my computer back and be able to go back online again - then I was away for 3 days and when i arrived back, excitedly turned on the computer but it had other ideas and the mouse started freezing up again and eventually after a few days, the computer went into a sulk and would not boot up-- so this time I decided it must be the mouse causing the problems. I borrowed another spare mouse from a friend, plugged it in and lo and behold the computer went on with no problem and has been no problem all day.

Mind you I am having mouse troubles of various sorts , I have a mouse in the walls of my house -- somewhere-- and it is a very crafty mouse -- takes the food that I am leaving out in the mouse trap for her - although, she obviously wasn't partial to marshmallow easter eggs -- she left that but then I discovered one day that it had chewed thru the wallpaper in the corner of my spare bedroom, where the 2 boards meet , there is a small gap and she/he got in thru there. Must be a female mouse- thinking things through- hehe Yesterday I received 4 Fabric ATCs for swap that i was involved in, the theme was New Zealand

Missing in Action -- "Broken Computer"

Well - Here it is almost a month later and if you wonder why I have been "missing-- my computer "broke" and I only received it back today. It has been away for repairs and they could not find anything wrong with it -- anyhow it appears to be going fine now ( fingers crossed).

My -- Have I been having computer withdrawal symptoms - I am obviously majorly addicted to my computer-- LOL-- & now having it back, I will be away for 3 days from Friday so I can see what I will be doing tomorrow, as I have been doing most of today. If I dont get to post tomorrow -I will do so after Sunday to update what I have been getting up to.

Hi All - Today I went out for lunch at a friends place where 4 of us met up. One of the girls or ladies, I should-- had recently bought a breadmaker at a local garage sale and decided that she would make us homemade bread for lunch -- Well-- it took longer than she expected so we didnt get lunch till about 1.30pm. The timer went off to say the bread was ready and our mouths were savilating at thought of fresh hot homemade bread. Up came the lid, amidst a burst of Laughter so we rushed out o what was so funny and there was Maureen bent over in Laughter -- the bread or what should have bread was only a thin crust a little way up the side of the tin and the rest It was an effort to get it out of the tin and we all just doubled over with laughter but set to tasting the very very thin crust-- wafer thin crust---but as for the loaf itself -- well that was wrapped up and taken home to show her Daughter how her first effort at making bread had turned up---- as for lunch -- she had to quickly nip up the shops and buy a white cut loaf . After returning home i decided to do some finishing off on my new blog and hace created 2 slideshow -- one on the right-- of family and friends. The other down the bottom of some ATCs, Cards, etc that i ahve created over the last year or so.
I hope I have brought a smile to your face today as you read this.

My First Blog

Here I am about to write my first blog -- putting myself out of my comfort zone

This wonderful world of technology which enables us to reach out to the other side of the world still amazes me.
It is rather late at night and I am feeling somewhat tired

I thought I would start my blog with a bit about my crafts: I love doing altered art, ATCs - both Paper and Fabric--Knitting and lately - I have become very intrigued by soft doll making -- having discovered Dotee and comfort dolls and cant wait to start making some of these.
I hope you will enjoy reading what i write about my crafts, life & family in future blogs.
